Reported by Anime News Network, this anime film premiered on January 12, 2019, in 131 theaters in Japan. Within three days of its broadcast, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. Lost Butterfly successfully sold 363 thousand tickets and earned 602 million yen or about 5.55 million US dollars. Noted, until February 19 last, lost butterfly has reached the sales of one million tickets with total revenue of 1.5 billion yen, or about 13.54 million US dollars.

Initially, the project Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel was announced in 2014 as a single film. However, at the 2016 AnimeJapan event, the project was officially made into a trilogy with the release of its first film in 2017. The film is packaged from a storyboard made by Takahiro Miura, directed by Tomonori Sudou, and animated by Ufotable.
